Description

Virtual Staffing Solutions is looking for Medical Insurance Eligibility Specialists. The Medical Insurance Eligibility Specialists will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits for medical procedures and services. The specialist will ensure that patients have valid insurance coverage, benefits for dermatology services, and that the office/provider is authorized to bill the insurance company for services provided. The specialist will work closely with patients, insurance providers, and office staff to ensure that all billing and insurance-related issues are resolved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and billing authorization.
  • Review policy limits and inform patients of potential out-of-pocket costs.
  • Coordinate with patients, insurers, and staff to resolve billing or insurance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance verification activities.
  • Collaborate with credentialing and revenue cycle teams for accurate, timely billing.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting billing and compliance (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
  • Support development of coding and billing strategies to improve revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Attend required departmental and revenue cycle meetings.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • More than a year of previous experience in medical insurance verification or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and billing codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to maintain HIPAA compliance in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
