Southwestern University Medical Center is looking for a competent Medical Social Worker who can facilitate social case investigations, counseling & referrals to appropriate agencies of professionals of clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible in the assessment of the patient's social status to determine patient's admission
  • Coordinates with Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), other government and non-government organizations that give assistance to indigent patients in the settlement of their hospital bills.
  • Secures payments by screening insurance information; identifying patients requiring pre-admission approvals from third-party payers; verifying approvals; notifying patient accounts department of self-paying admissions.
  • Performs daily rounds on all admitted patients on their running balances on their hospital bills and secures deposit or partial payment.
  • Reports to the Finance Supervisor on updates regarding problematic patients and boarders.
  • Process and assist patients eligible to avail the service case program provided by the hospital
  • Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
  • Registered Social Worker with valid PRC License
  • Preferably with at least 1 year related experience in Social Work/Admitting position
  • Has excellent customer-service and time management skills
  • Good communications, computer and organization skills
  • Displays good coordination and teamwork
  • Knowledgeable in financial assistance
  • Possesses analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php16,000.00 per month
