
Regional Director for SME Lending

The Regional Director for SME Lending will play a pivotal role in leading and managing
the SME lending department in driving growth in Visayas and Mindanao, managing
relationships and expanding the Bank's SME Portfolio. This position is responsible for
overseeing Loan Managers, driving the acquisition of new SME clients, and strategically
growing the portfolio related to SME business loans, real estate mortgages, and chattel
mortgages. The RD will be instrumental in managing portfolio risk and ensuring the
overall success of the SME lending function within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor Cluster Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure
optimal performance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the SME lending team.
2. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and recruit new SME clients.
- Nurture relationships with existing clients to maximize customer retention and
satisfaction.
3. Portfolio Growth:
- Develop and execute plans to increase the SME business loan, real estate
mortgage, and chattel mortgage portfolios.
- Identify market trends and opportunities for product and service expansion.
4. Risk Management:
- Implement effective risk management practices to minimize portfolio at risk.
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, taking proactive measures to mitigate
potential risks.
5. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as credit, compliance, and finance, to
ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulatory requirements while
maintaining quality services for the clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or
relevant post-graduate qualification would be preferred.
- Proven experience in SME Lending, savings mobilization, and relationship
management within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of SME lending products, real estate mortgages, and chattel
mortgages, market trends and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in client acquisition and portfolio growth, with at least 10 years
of SME Lending experience in a leadership capacity.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with ability to motivate and
manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of risk management practices and regulatory compliance in the lending
industry.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to make informed
decisions under pressure.
Sound understanding of credit risk assessment and financial analysis.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Willing to travel to the Visayas and Mindanao regions where CARD SME Bank has
operations.
