Job Description: Senior Accountant
Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and at least one year of leadership or team lead experience to provide guidance to junior staff. A CPA license is not required, but solid experience in supervising accounting processes and people is essential.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and review daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timeliness and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules prepared by team members.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit engagements.
  • Recommend improvements in accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification not required (CPA or equivalent is an advantage but not mandatory).
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 1 year in a team lead, supervisory, or officer-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willing to report on-site 6 days a week
