The Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) needs a competent individual to occupy ONE (1) CONTRACT OF SERVICE POSITION:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Position Title: PROJECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANT I
  • Division/Section/Unit: TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES / FOOD SAFETY UNIT
  • Salary Grade: SG-10
  • Monthly Salary: P30,703

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or any allied fields on food technology.
  • Preferably with at least one (1) year relevant experience in the manufacturing industry, in conducting surveys, interviews and focus group discussions, and in processing statistical data. Experience in project/ program management is an advantage.
  • With 4 hours relevant training on project/ program development and management, sectoral concerns, research, monitoring, evaluation, training, advocacy and networking.

JOB COMPETENCIES:

  • Capable of conducting situation analysis/ environmental scanning, writing technical reports with moderate guidance, and with knowledge on statistics.
  • Possesses good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and should exhibit initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Knowledge/ background in food processing, food safety management systems, quantitative research, handling and processing of big data and conduct statistical analyses is an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in project management and food analysis and testing.
  • Capable in MS Office suite, video teleconferencing platforms (i.e. Zoom, Google Meet) and statistical analysis softwares.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and is a team player.
  • Willing to work in a flexible working environment (field and office).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct of survey/data gathering on technology needs, gaps, and potential disruptions of NCR-based food enterprises, startups and relevant stakeholders.
  • Travel outside the workplace to visit firms and conduct survey/ monitoring of NCR-based food enterprises, startups and stakeholders under FS-related activities and projects.
  • Assist in the conduct of current Good Manufacturing Practice - compliant plant layout assistance and in the drafting of such as well as possible areas of S&T interventions and process improvements relevant to FS consultancy program, activities and projects.
  • Provide assistance in project management to attain both physical and financial targets.
  • Assist in the communication, coordination, and implementation of all activities under the project.
  • Provide technical, administrative, and operational support in all activities to be conducted under the FS Unit.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the ISO 9001 or Quality Management System of the office.
  • Perform related functions as maybe assigned by DOST-NCR from time to time.
