The janitorial/housekeeping staff maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness within the medical center to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and employees. Their role is critical in infection control and compliance with hospital sanitation standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
  2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces.
  3. Change bed linens, restock towels, and ensure patient rooms are well-maintained.
  4. Dispose of waste and hazardous materials according to hospital guidelines.
  5. Refill and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
  6. Follow infection control procedures, including proper waste segregation.
  7. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling biohazardous waste.
  8. Comply with hospital safety protocols and report any maintenance issues.
  9. Ensure cleaning chemicals and materials are stored safely and used properly.
  10. Respond promptly to requests from hospital staff regarding urgent cleaning needs.
  11. Assist in setting up rooms for new patient admissions.
  12. Cooperate with nurses and other hospital personnel for sanitation-related concerns.
  13. Assist during emergency situations such as spills or contamination.
  14. Participate in periodic deep cleaning of hospital wards and surgical areas.
  15. Support housekeeping operations during hospital-wide events or special functions.
  16. Attends regular meetings and participates in hospital activities.
Job Qualifications:
  1. Senior High School Graduate or College Undergraduate.
  2. Experience in hospital or hotel housekeeping is an advantage.
  3. Knowledge of hospital cleaning procedures and infection control protocols is an advantage.
  4. Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  5. Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  6. Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  7. Must have an NC2 license for housekeeping.
