Competencies and Other Qualifications: With good communication skills; Proficient in various software applications such as MS Word and Excel; Willing to travel or do fieldwork; Resident of or familiar with the area applying for; Conduct CI (i.e project and residence checking) on loan applicants.

Duties:

As Credit Investigator:

  • Credit Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses applying for loans.
  • Background Checks: Conduct thorough background checks on applicants to verify information provided, including employment history, income, and outstanding debts.
  • Risk Analysis: Assess the risk associated with each credit application and make recommendations or decisions based on the level of risk involved.
  • Communication: Interact with applicants, gather additional information if needed, and explain credit decisions to them.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of credit investigations, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

As Appraiser:

  • Property Valuation: Assess the value of real estate properties that are being used as collateral for loans. This involves conducting on-site inspections and considering factors like location, condition, and market trends.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on real estate market trends to provide accurate and up-to-date property valuations. This includes understanding the local market conditions and factors influencing property values.
  • Report Preparation: Create comprehensive appraisal reports detailing the methods used, the property's condition, and the final valuation. These reports are crucial for decision-making within the financial institution.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that property appraisals comply with industry regulations and standards. This is essential for legal and risk management purposes.
  • Communication: Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to provide information on property valuations and address any queries or concerns.
