About the role

Spanex IT Services is seeking an experienced Nurse Coder to join our team in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This full-time position is a crucial part of our Healthcare & Medical division, specialising in Nursing - General Medical & Surgical. As a Nurse Coder, you will be responsible for accurately translating patient records and medical procedures into standardised codes, ensuring efficient and compliant medical billing and reimbursement.

What you'll be doing

  1. Reviewing patient medical records and charts to identify relevant diagnoses, procedures, and services performed
  2. Assigning appropriate medical codes in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  3. Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate code selection
  4. Maintaining detailed records and logs of coding activities
  5. Staying up-to-date with changes in coding policies, procedures, and regulations
  6. Providing training and support to other team members on coding best practices
  7. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of more efficient coding workflows

What we're looking for

  1. Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) qualification
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility setting
  3. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  4. Proficiency in applying coding standards, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare providers
  7. Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
