Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing electrical systems for complex engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role demands strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record in delivering high-quality electrical designs.The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead a small team of junior engineers and designers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and oversight to ensure accurate and efficient project deliverables. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment, implementing best practices, and maintaining the firm's standard of technical excellence across all projects.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for running of medium size projects. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposesSurveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installationsSpecifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirementsDay to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to clientRepresents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teamsCarries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standardsResponsible for technical content and accuracy of Trainee, Graduates and EngineersValidation and checking of designs and specificationsJOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor of Science in Electrical EngineeringPreferably 7-10 years of experience within a multi-disciplinary design consulting firmExperience handling large-scale projects; data centre design experience is an advantage.Proficient in designing electrical systems, including LV power systems, lighting, FDAS, earthing & lightning protection, and ELV systems (security, telecom/data systems)Knowledgeable in design software such as Dialux, Amtech, ETAP, Navis, Bluebeam, or equivalentFamiliarity with the application of British Standards in electrical design is preferred but not requiredExperience with MV power systems is an advantage but not mandatoryStrong team player with experience mentoring or supervising junior/graduate engineers.GETTING RESULTS AND WORKING TOGETHERThe post holder will be expected to operate in line with our workplace values:ACCOUNTABILITY > Everyone is accountable.INTEGRITY > We are straight talking, respectful and fair.SIMPLICITY > Both in our approach and solutions.SUPPORTIVE > We are approachable, inclusive and recognise success.QUALITY > We strive to get it right first time, every time.
