Job Summary

The Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electronic and low-current systems for infrastructure projects. The role supports the successful delivery of large-scale developments such as transport systems, buildings, utilities, and public infrastructure by ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient electronic systems.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

  • Prepare and review designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations for electronic and ELV/low-current systems
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, local codes, and international standards
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, electrical, mechanical, architectural)

Site Implementation

  • Supervise installation of electronic systems such as:

  • CCTV and security systems

  • Access control and intrusion detection
  • Fire alarm interfaces and signaling systems
  • Communication, data, and PA systems
  • SCADA, BMS, and monitoring systems (as applicable)
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure work is executed according to approved plans

Testing & Commissioning

  • Lead or support testing, commissioning, and integration of electronic systems
  • Prepare test procedures, reports, and as-built documentation
  • Troubleshoot system issues during commissioning and handover

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Review method statements, technical submittals, and material approvals
  • Support project schedules, progress reporting, and issue resolution

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and safety standards
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and handover processes
  • Maintain proper documentation for project close-out

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Licensed Electronics Engineer (preferred, where applicable)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure or construction projects
  • Strong experience with ELV and electronic systems in large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of testing and commissioning processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant engineering software

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience in transport infrastructure (MRT, LRT, airports, tunnels, highways)
  • Familiarity with international standards and project-based environments
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work onsite and in fast-paced project settings

Work Environment
  • Project-based, site and office work
  • May require extended hours during testing and commissioning phases
