The Principal or Senior Electrical Engineer (Secondary HV Systems) will develop high quality designs for Secondary High Voltage (HV) systems and guide younger engineers in design, testing and commissioning of Secondary HV systems.

You'll work closely with clients (Quanta Operating Units) to align engineering output with broader project and business objectives.

ENGINEERING

• Undertake engineering, technical analysis and report generation tasks as required.
• Ensure technical / engineering designs are compliant with standards and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with company / client Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of tenders.
• Assist with project management as required.
• Detailed substation secondary systems design, specification, documentation and reports as required.
• Assistance with commissioning of HV Secondary Systems as required.
• Create appropriate technical documentation as required; FAT testing as required; assistance with maintenance and fault finding of installations, carry out systems studies and power systems analyses as required; pre-commissioning and commissioning of new and refurbished equipment and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

• Must have a Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered / Professional Engineer (desirable)
• Experience: 8+ years
• Minimum 8 years' hands-on experience in HV substation secondary systems design
• Demonstrated successful experience of project management of HV system design projects.
• General understanding of the principals of WHSE.
• Knowledge of power systems philosophy.
• General understanding of project tender and estimating requirements.
• Understanding of project financial requirements.
• Software: Knowledge of Project Management and other software used by Engineers.
• Experience with protection relays (e.g., SEL, ABB, Siemens), SCADA systems will be highly regarded.
