Principal Protection/Secondary Engineer

Your impact

As part of our Global Delivery Center (GDC), you'll be at the heart of delivering high-impact energy and power projects across the globe. We're seeking a
Principal
Protection/Secondary
Engineer
to deliver design and project leadership projects across the Power sector. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside design team members in the ANZ/United States to produce detailed design documents and perform construction phase engineering services.

Responsibilities Include

• Delivering substations protection and control design work including preparing protection schedules, panel layouts, AC & DC Schematics, Logic Diagrams, mapping tables and protection settings
• Demonstrate leadership and actively supporting the achievement of growth targets in sales and revenue through client interaction, preparing proposals and technical leadership of team members
• Performing power system analysis and calculations
• Undertaking protection settings calculations and producing relay/IED configuration files to be uploaded for testing & commissioning
• Leading quality assurance of projects and applying QA procedures.
• Providing technical leadership in the field in own area of specialisation, sharing and applying technical knowledge to address problems and determine actions.
• Determining and addressing underlying client needs. Confirms satisfaction. Sets up client feedback systems.
• Contributing to successful operation of the Power Solutions Group through technical and business leadership.
• Supporting our virtual teaming strategy, and a culture supporting work-sharing and mobility across the business
• Participating in open and honest feedback relating to project and team performance issues.
• Providing support to graduate and junior staff, as required, to facilitate project delivery and development of team capability.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Proven leadership in project delivery, client engagement, and business development
• Good understanding of fault level calculations and able to use software programmes
• Expertise in Control & Protection configurations and infrastructure power systems
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers
• Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE, Philippine Electrical Codes and Philippine Distribution Code and other international codes and standards
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
