Description for Internal Candidates

Brief Job Description:

Generate technically and grammatically correct test reports on critical customer electrical assets, based on test data and reference materials supplied by Technical Service, Electrical Reliability Services and High Voltage Maintenance. The customer test report details inspected customer equipment, inspection procedures, and inspection results and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

1. Download test data on the critical electrical assets of the customer, as collected by Field Service technicians/engineers (Electrical Reliability Services) via the PowerDB, eFolders, or other platforms.
2. Validate electrical test data for different types of electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, switchboard, switches, motor control centers, transformers, cables, circuit breakers, metering, grounding systems, rotating machinery, direct current systems, capacitors, reactors, surge protection, and insulating liquids per IEEE/NETA, NEMA, NFPA, and ASTM standards, and other references, such as Doble.
3. Check completeness and logical sense of electrical test data, test results, and remedial recommendations in test datasheets (from PowerDB, eFolders, emails, etc.), and make corrections as required.
4. Create and rework simple to medium complexity (Acceptance, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Infrared without analysis, Load Recording) customer test reports—detailing inspected customer equipment, inspection procedures (NETA standard procedures, or industry accepted procedures as specified in work scope), results and recommendations—using the web-based ERS Report Manager program.
5. Analyze infrared images, troubleshooting, and power quality data, and provide sound recommendations as required.
6. Perform peer review of simple to medium complexity customer test reports generated by peer Report Writers, and provide feedback and corrections as applicable.
7. Coordinate the review and correction of test data, and the review and approval of draft customer reports with ERS Service Center engineers, supervisors, and/or managers.
8. Validate and submit large project datasheets within the required turnaround time.
9. Participate and Lead Collab Projects within the required turnaround.
    

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. 1-5 years of professional experience in the field of electrical servicing or construction.
3. Familiarity with standards from National Electrical Code (NEC), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and American National (ANSI).
4. Working knowledge of the following but not limited to (1) tests performed on circuit breakers, switchgears, transformers, and other power distribution components and equipment; (2) power quality issues and perspectives, and experience with power quality analyzer software; and (3) infrared inspections and issues, and experience with thermal imaging software.
5. Good knowledge of technical English, and good business writing skills.
6. Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
7. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
8. Effective working with teammates and POCs.
