Position Summary

The Safety & Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards while maintaining the company's quality management system (QMS). This dual role safeguards employees, property, and the environment while also assuring that products, processes, and services meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Officer Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with government safety regulations (DOLE, OSHA, etc.).
  • Organize and conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
  • Maintain safety records (accidents, near misses, inspections, PPE issuance).

Quality Assurance Duties

  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards or client requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits, product inspections, and process reviews.
  • Document non-conformities and ensure timely Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Provide quality awareness training to employees.
  • Prepare and submit QA performance reports to management.

Integrated Functions (Safety + QA)

  • Develop integrated audit checklists covering both safety and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety and product quality.
  • Promote a culture of "Safe and Quality Work" across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • With BOSH or COSH certification (DOLE-accredited Safety Officer).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or other quality standards.
  • At least 2–3 years' experience in safety or quality roles (manufacturing, construction, logistics, or related industry).
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment, audit procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills.
