Job Title: Quantity Survey Engineer (Telecom)

Location: Manila, Philippines

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Manager/Head of Design, Engineering

Role Overview:

  • Manage all project costs related to telecom tower construction and installation.
  • Prepare accurate BOQs/BOMs, cost estimates, and financial analyses to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Recommend cost optimizations and stay updated with industry standards and technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to control costs and manage risks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

  • Prepare and evaluate detailed cost estimates for telecom tower projects (acquisition, foundation, erection, electrical, commissioning, etc.).
  • Develop project BOQs/budgets aligned with contract scope and client requirements.
  • Review and forecast project costs for accurate budget tracking.

2. Contract Administration

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing tender documents, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Manage contract compliance, variations, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to resolve contractual issues.

3. Cost Control & Reporting

  • Monitor project costs and ensure financial compliance with approved budgets.
  • Track variations and report potential risks impacting project costs.
  • Prepare financial and cash flow reports for ongoing projects.

4. Measurement & Valuation

  • Conduct site visits to verify work done and prepare accurate valuations.
  • Validate quantities and assess on-site progress for interim and final payments.
  • Perform re-measurements for cost accuracy.

5. Procurement & Resource Management

  • Support material and subcontractor procurement for telecom tower projects.
  • Assist in negotiating costs, terms, and timelines with vendors and subcontractors.

6. Risk Management

  • Identify and report potential cost, schedule, and scope risks.
  • Recommend cost mitigation and risk control measures.

7. Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams for cost management.
  • Communicate cost estimates, changes, and progress updates with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • At least 2 years in the telecom industry (mandatory).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of telecom tower construction, foundations, and power systems.
  • Proficient in quantity surveying software and MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Understanding of industry codes, contract law, and risk management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desired Attributes:

  • Previous telecom tower project experience (required).
  • Familiar with international construction and engineering standards.

Pay: Php35, Php40,000.00 per month
