Job Summary

The Senior 2D Artist will be responsible for creating high-quality 2D artwork, illustrations, and designs that align with the project's artistic direction. This role requires advanced artistic skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to lead or mentor junior artists while collaborating closely with the creative team to bring visual concepts to life. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing on-site collaboration with remote productivity.

Key Responsibilities1. Artwork Creation

  • Produce high-quality 2D illustrations, concept art, UI elements, and visual assets for projects.
  • Develop characters, environments, props, and textures that match the project's style guide.
  • Create compelling visual storytelling through composition, lighting, and color.

2. Concept Development

  • Interpret creative briefs and translate ideas into visual designs.
  • Provide concept sketches and refine them based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with game designers, animators, and other artists to ensure visual consistency.

3. Art Direction & Quality Control

  • Ensure all artwork meets quality standards, brand guidelines, and project deadlines.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback to junior artists' work.
  • Maintain consistency in style across all assets.

4. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Art Director to align on artistic vision.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure assets integrate smoothly into production pipelines.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to creative solutions.

5. Process & Workflow Management

  • Maintain organized files, naming conventions, and documentation for easy team access.
  • Assist in optimizing workflows and recommending tools or techniques for efficiency.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a 2D Artist, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven portfolio showcasing high-quality 2D artwork, preferably in games, animation, or multimedia projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Mastery in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other digital painting and illustration tools.
  • Strong understanding of composition, anatomy, perspective, lighting, and color theory.
  • Ability to adapt to different art styles.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of animation principles or 3D basics is a plus.
