Payroll Assistant

Job Summary:
The Payroll Assistant ensures the accurate and timely disbursement of salaries to the School's employees, oversees the proper withholding of taxes, government dues, and transfers, and coordinates with the HR Department regarding employee attendance, termination, resignation, retirement, and other disciplinary actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Payroll
- Prepares employees' salaries and pay slips
- Prepares and posts government dues (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, Taxes) and loan payments
- Handles SSS and PhilHealth claims
- Computes and verifies faculty teaching load
- Computes employees' absences, tardiness, and undertime
- Disseminates employees' pay slips and faculty vouchers
- Maintains records of office salary loans for teaching and non-teaching employees
- Prepares annual Income Tax Returns (ITR) of employees and school officials
- Prepares reports for the Collection and Resource Disbursement Officer as instructed
- Assists with Fastbuck, Departmental Salary, and Employees' ITR reports
b. Accounting Policies and Procedures
- Formulates and documents department policies and procedures.
- Keeps abreast of new and updates on relevant legislations.
c. Related Duties
- Provides financial information on strategic plans and reviews.
- Supports the annual audit by providing and answering the questions or clarifications of auditors.
- Participates in committees as assigned.
- Assists in the execution of school events and activities.
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time by superiors.
d. Management Responsibility
- Participates and contributes to the development of corporate goals, objectives, action plans and programs.
- Acts as a role model of an ethical and professional manner committed to the corporate vision, mission and values.
- Participates in the promotion and enforcement of safety rules, regulations, programs, and activities.
- Attends management meetings and submits reports on the status of accounting activities and other concerns to the Management Committee on a regular basis.
