Jose C. Feliciano College is seeking a thoughtful, strategic, and caring HR Headto lead our human resources efforts. We want someone who upholds integrity as much as effectiveness — someone who helps our institution thrive by supporting and empowering our people.

Role Summary

The HR Manager will oversee the full spectrum of HR functions: recruitment, performance, employee relations, policy, compliance, and culture. This is a key role in creating a structured, fair, and motivating environment for faculty, staff, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with our school values and applicable regulations
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of academic and non-academic staff
  • Manage employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes with fairness and professionalism
  • Oversee performance management systems and support staff development & training initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, school policies, and accreditation requirements
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation (contracts, evaluations, reports, etc.)
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic workforce planning and organizational development
  • Support wellness, engagement, and recognition programs to nurture a positive culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in education or nonprofit settings
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and strategic insight
