We are looking for a Technical Architect who will play a key role in shaping and executing our technical strategy.
As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that our technical vision is aligned with business objectives, and that this strategy is effectively implemented and followed across all teams. Your expertise will guide the design, development, and optimization of scalable and high-performance software solutions, while ensuring alignment with best practices and long-term goals.

Communicating between the technical and non-technical (technical architect).
  • You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels. (Skill level: expert)
Governance and assurance.
  • You can understand how technical governance works with wider governance (such as budget). You can assure corporate services by understanding important risks and mitigating them through assurance mechanisms. (Skill level: expert)
Making and guiding decisions.
  • You can make and justify decisions characterised by high levels of risk, impact and complexity. You can build consensus between teams and stakeholders. (Skill level: expert)
Strategy.
  • You can shape and influence the Architectural strategy - aligning decisions in a way that serve upcoming projects that are notprgra necessarily on the immediate horizon. You can propose strategies, patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements. (Skill level: expert)
Turning business problems into technical design.
  • You can design systems characterised by high levels of risk, impact, and business or technical complexity. (Skill level: expert)
Understanding the whole context.
  • You can understand trends and practices outside your organisation and how these will impact your work. You can anticipate changing requirements and flexibility in solutions. (Skill level: expert)
About the role...
  • Communicate with Engineering and Product stakeholders across the organisation
  • Proactively seek opportunities for architectural improvements and transformation
  • Work with selected squads reviewing and advising on technical design plans, finding and using best practice and emerging technologies
  • Be responsible for solving complex and high risk issues or delivering architecture design
  • Assure the service design and system quality, ensuring the technical work fits into the broader strategy of Interact
  • Undertake structured analysis of technical issues/projects (during project scoping), translating this analysis into technical designs that describe a solution - and facilitating Technical Leads to do the same with your oversight
  • Review in-flight projects during each sprint, focusing on architectural design choices, and provide and architectural sign-off on a solution prior to release
  • Work closely on strategic architectural projects
  • Be consulted about design and provide design patterns
  • Identify and fix deeper issues that need fixing
  • Look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute, create, and maintain architectural documentation, diagrams, patterns, and principles - and provide regular sessions to the wider Engineering team for training, and calibration - reducing overall solution entropy and fractured implementation/patterns
