Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Associate will be responsible for supporting the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, and assisting in the preparation of reports and analyses. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate recording
  • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies in financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and internal policies
  • Support in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses
  • Liaise with auditors during external and internal audits, providing necessary schedules and documentation
  • Implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls within the accounting function
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Accounting or Finance Manager
  • Know how to use SAGE 50 or Peach tree

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or audit environment
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and taxation
  • Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Oracle)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
