Job Summary

The Finance Director is responsible for financial strategies, recommends financial objectives aligned to corporate financial goals, and contributes financial and accounting information needed by the business for analysis of its financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating effective approaches to achieve corporate financial goals; Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements of the business unit, identifies funding resources, and develops action plans.
  • Researches local economic trends and revenue opportunities, analyzing operations processes and goal achievement, identifying opportunities for improvement, eand exploresinnovative approaches for greater cost effectiveness, and systems enhancement.
  • Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
  • Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying opportunities to maximize returns and maintaining relationships with the financial community. Assists the COO in exploring opportunities for expansion and growth and approaches to accumulating capital to fund expansion.
  • Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, and analyzing variances.
  • Acts as a guardian of corporate governance and checks for the company's compliance with all corporate regulatory requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new national and local regulations, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Experience of 15 years in the Finance function with demonstrated capability in Financial planning and budgeting, participation in strategic planning, developing budgets and cash flow, promoting process improvement, and dealing with complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related finance courses, and holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant
  • A master's degree in Business or Finance is an advantage.
