Job Summary:

The Mason (NC II) is responsible for performing skilled masonry work, including laying, repairing, and finishing walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, stones, and other masonry materials. The role ensures quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for masonry works.
  • Prepare surfaces and lay bricks, blocks, tiles, or stones using appropriate mortar or adhesives.
  • Construct and repair walls, partitions, pavements, floors, and other masonry structures.
  • Perform plastering, tiling, and finishing works as required.
  • Mix mortar, concrete, and other bonding materials in proper proportions.
  • Inspect and ensure the alignment, level, and plumb of masonry works.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
  • Follow workplace safety and health protocols at all times.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and co-workers to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Holder of Masonry NC II Certificate issued by TESDA or any training school.
  • At least 1 year experience in masonry or related construction work (preferred but not always required).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
  • Knowledge of different types of masonry materials and techniques.
  • Physically fit to perform manual and outdoor work.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills.
