About the role

We are seeking a talented Buyer to join our dynamic team at Isetann Department Store, Inc., in Recto, Quiapo, Manila City, Metro Manila. As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and procuring products that align with our company's strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of our customers. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to shape the retail landscape and contribute to the growth and success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Analyse market trends, consumer demands, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for product development and procurement
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, pricing, and delivery schedules for high-quality products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless product integration and effective inventory management
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing product lines, making data-driven decisions to optimise inventory levels and drive profitability
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical sourcing practices to maintain the company's reputation and brand integrity
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the management team, contributing to the overall strategic planning and decision-making process

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a buyer or purchasing role within the retail or consumer products industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrable understanding of the retail landscape, including market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis, inventory management, and procurement processes
  • A keen eye for detail, combined with a strategic and commercially-minded approach to product selection and sourcing
