About the Role

We are looking for a Finance and Medical Records Assistant to join our remote team. This role ensures accurate, timely, and secure handling of medical records requests while supporting finance operations during low records volume. You will work closely with families, clinicians, and our billing partner while upholding strict privacy and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, validate, and fulfill medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
  • Verify authorizations, ensure provider clearance, and manage secure delivery of documents.
  • Maintain accurate logs, apply redactions, and ensure audit-ready documentation.
  • Assist with finance operations: invoicing, statements, correspondence, and basic reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, billing partners, and compliance staff to resolve issues.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and remote security protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years' experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare billing/finance.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy/security requirements.
  • Proficiency in EHR/document management, secure email/encryption, PDF tools, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace.
  • Excellent written communication and strong attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience in behavioral health or serving youth/family populations.
  • Familiarity with payer audits, ROI for minors, and custody-related documentation.
  • Basic accounting support skills (invoicing, payment posting, EOBs).
  • RHIT, CHDS, CHPS, or related certification.
