Demand & Supply Assistant Manager

Position Summary:

The Demand & Supply Management Assistant Manager is responsible for end-to-end material planning, supply coordination, inventory positioning, and production scheduling to support uninterrupted order fulfillment across all sales channels. This role ensures optimal inventory availability, capacity alignment, and execution of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), while supervising a team responsible for day-to-day material management and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead and manage Material Management Supervisor and Inventory Controller
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to policies and KPIs
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and mentoring

2. Demand & Supply Planning Execution

• Translate approved sales forecasts (from Sales & Marketing) into actionable supply plans and MRP
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
• Balance demand requirements with production, inventory, and storage constraints

3. Production & Supply Scheduling

• Prepare and maintain production schedules in coordination with Manufacturing
• Align supply timelines with production capacity, lead times, and inventory targets
• Monitor execution and recommend adjustments as needed

4. Inventory Planning & Control

• Ensure optimal inventory levels to support service level targets while minimizing overstock and expiry risks
• Oversee Inventory Controller to monitor stock aging, slow-moving items, and at-risk inventory
• Support company objective of zero expired inventory through proactive planning

5. Space & Capacity Management

• Perform space and capacity computation for warehouses and storage locations
• Ensure inventory plans align with warehouse capacity and 3PL limitations
• Coordinate stock allocation across internal warehouses and third-party hubs

6. Dropshipping & Global Fulfillment Support

• Plan inventory positioning and replenishment for dropshipping operations
• Coordinate supply readiness for export and cross-border fulfillment
• Ensure material availability supports international expansion

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with:
• Sales & Marketing – forecast intake, promotions
• Warehouse & Distribution – stock readiness, inbound scheduling
• Manufacturing – production planning and execution
• QA/RA – compliance with shelf-life and regulatory requirements
• Escalate supply risks and constraints proactively to Head of Supply Chain

8. Reporting & KPI Management

• Oversee team to prepare and present regular reports on:
• Inventory health
• Supply plan adherence
• Production plan attainment
• Expiry risk and stock coverage
• Support Balanced Scorecard (BSC) KPIs under Internal Process and Financial perspectives

9. Process Improvement & Governance

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning accuracy, MRP discipline, and supply execution
• Establish and enforce standard planning processes and controls
• Support system enhancements and data integrity related to planning and inventory

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
• Minimum 5–7 years' experience in demand & supply planning, material management, or production planning
• Experience managing a team is required
• Experience handling multi-channel and multi-country operations is an advantage

• Recommends inventory strategies and production plans
• Escalates risks impacting service levels, cost, or expiry
