The Building and Maintenance Personnel is responsible for ensuring that all building facilities are well-maintained, safe and fully operational.

General Maintenance Tasks

  • Address minor repairs, including painting, carpentry and equipment maintenance and fixtures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain facility systems, including HVAC systems, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems and other building infrastructure.

Routine & Preventive Maintenance

  • Carry out routine maintenance and preventive measures to avoid potential issues with systems and equipment.
  • Maintain and monitor the condition of various facility systems and ensure that they are functioning properly.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair calls.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Facility Inspections

  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility and its systems to identify any maintenance needs or potential issues (interior and exterior)
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all maintenance work completed, including repairs, inspections, and preventative measures.

Compliance with Safety Regulations

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Use tools and equipment safely, adhering to established protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, and general welding ability.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment

Work Environment: Building and Maintenance Personnel will primarily work within stores, using various tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repairs. This role may involve working in different areas of the building, handling different maintenance tasks.
