Building Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Building Engineer to ensure the reliable operation, repair, and maintenance of all building systems within our condominium property. The Building Engineer will work closely with property management and contractors to keep facilities safe, efficient, and well-maintained, contributing to a high standard of living for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety equipment, and elevators.
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment or system malfunctions to minimize downtime and inconvenience to residents.
• Carry out preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce repair costs.
• Assist contractors or vendors during installations, upgrades, or major repairs.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, completed work, and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Support property management with technical expertise during construction, renovation, or fit-out projects.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and condominium policies.
• Recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance building efficiency and resident satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the Resident Engineer or Property Manager for budgeting, planning, and prioritizing maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Engineering (Licensed Engineer preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in a residential or condominium setting.
• Strong understanding of building systems, preventive maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Hands-on skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office) for documentation and reporting.
• Willingness to work on-site full time and respond to urgent issues after hours if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical maintenance.
• Experience with condominium or property management operations.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient building practices or sustainability initiatives.
