IT Assistant Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE:

To assist in overseeing and managing the IT infrastructure operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the Nutri-Asia's IT systems. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing servers, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and network infrastructure to support business growth with security, reliability, and scalability. Key responsibilities include managing third-party IT staff, developing and implementing comprehensive IT policies and procedures, and cultivating strong vendor relationships. Additionally, the role involves applying IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL, to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in planning, designing, and implementing IT infrastructure projects and upgrades. Oversee the management and optimization of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.

• Ensure that infrastructure supports organizational needs effectively.

• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect IT infrastructure and data. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and audits.

• Lead incident response efforts for security breaches or infrastructure outages. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues promptly.

• Monitor and assess the performance of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity systems to ensure reliability and security. Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews to identify and address potential issues.

• Implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation related to infrastructure management.

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors providing infrastructure and cybersecurity services, ensuring compliance with SLAs and performance expectations.

• Collaborate with vendors to plan for future infrastructure capacity needs and scalability.

• Ensure that IT infrastructure and cybersecurity practices comply with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.

• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution, including backup management and data recovery procedures.

• Assist in budgeting and cost management for infrastructure projects and services.

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization's infrastructure remains cutting-edge.

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or certifications in infra or security related technologies or disciplines is an advantage.

Experience/ Expertise

• Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management.

• Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing a team of IT professionals.

• Technical Experience: Demonstrated experience with managing complex IT environments, including but not limited to:

o Server Management: Extensive experience with both physical and virtual server environments (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V).

o Network Management: In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall configurations).

o Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and understanding of cloud architecture and services.

o Storage Solutions: Experience with storage area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and backup/recovery solutions.

o Disaster Recovery: Proven experience in disaster recovery planning, including backup strategies, data recovery, and continuity planning.

o System Optimization: Track record of implementing and managing system performance improvements and optimizing infrastructure resources.

o Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure the security of the IT infrastructure. Experience with:

• Security Measures: Implementing and managing security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption technologies.
• Vulnerability Management: Conducting vulnerability assessments, applying patches, and mitigating security risks.
• Incident Response: Experience in responding to security incidents, including identifying threats, managing security breaches, and executing incident response plans.
• Compliance: Knowledge of relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, DPA) and ensuring compliance within the IT infrastructure.

Certification/ Licensure Requirements

Preferred Certifications:

• ITIL Foundation or higher.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar cloud certifications.

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification.

• Cybersecurity Certifications:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security)

Other Technical Skills Required

• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and streamline processes.

• Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, MS Project).

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess system performance, identify issues, and develop data-driven solutions.

• Problem-Solving: Advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement effective solutions.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.

4. INTERFACE/ INTERACTION:

Internal Relations

• Collaborate with other IT teams, including application support, cybersecurity, and helpdesk, to ensure seamless service delivery.

• Work closely with senior management to align infrastructure strategies with business goals.

• Coordinate with IT BP leads to understand infrastructure needs and provide solutions.

External Relations

• Liaise with vendors, service providers, and consultants to manage and negotiate contracts and services.

• Represent the organization in industry forums and technical communities.

• Supervise and lead a team of IT professionals, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities.
