The QA/QC Engineer ensures that all project activities comply with contractual specifications, codes, standards, and quality management procedures. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with consultants, clients, and contractors to maintain high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 or project-specific requirements).
  • Review method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and material submittals.
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.

2. Quality Control

  • Perform site inspections for civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical works (as applicable).
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Verify materials and equipment received on-site against approved material submittals.
  • Check workmanship and ensure proper installation and testing procedures are followed.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain all quality records, reports, logs, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and CARs (Corrective Action Requests).
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly QA/QC reports.
  • Maintain inspection requests (IRs), material inspection requests (MIRs), and test reports.
  • Assist in preparing handover documents, QA dossiers, and as-built documentation.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with the consultant/client for inspections and approvals.
  • Liaise with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding quality requirements.
  • Raise site observations and ensure timely closure of NCRs.
  • Participate in technical meetings and quality review discussions.

5. Testing & Compliance

  • Ensure testing (concrete, soils, materials, NDT, etc.) is performed according to project specifications.
  • Review test results and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of QA/QC experience in relevant industry (construction, MEP, oil & gas, manufacturing).
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards, project specifications, and international codes (ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing QA/QC documentation.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
