We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Vice President Global Markets Product Control.

Role Purpose

To effectively manage Treasury Balance Sheet, profitability and risk; protect the bank from potential losses; and provide financial/analytical support for Treasury activities. To manage the team responsible for the timely and accurate presentation and analysis of Global Markets financial reports (including valuation, accounting, profit and loss and balance sheet), regulatory reports, market risk exposures against established limits, and support for GM's new product proposals and related initiatives.  To monitor and control Global Markets activity through the enforcement of procedures defined in  Markets FIM, GSM, and other statutory regulations.  The job holder needs to ensure the rigorous enforcement of group control procedures; compliance with relevant local regulations; and to develop an independent, competent and professional Global Markets Product Control team that can cope with the continuously-evolving and highly-technical financial reporting, analysis, and product control requirements for the Global Markets business. 

Responsibilities

Impact on the Business / Function

• Ensures the correct capture and reporting of Global Markets P&L, balance sheet and market risk
• Safeguards the Bank from potential reputational risk by ensuring compliance with all local regulatory and external financial reporting requirements
• Contributes to the effective risk management of Global Markets business
• Contributes to the development /implementation of strategic plans

Customers / Stakeholders

• Provides guidance and assistance to Global Markets in evaluating new products and business opportunities
• Provides support to other business areas and senior management in relation to finance and market risk-related Global Markets issues
• Ensures timely and accurate reporting of the highest quality for all Global Markets related activities to Group, local regulators and other internal customers

Leadership & Teamwork

• Develop an independent, technically competent and reliable Product Control team that meets the continuously-evolving financial, regulatory and market risk data requirements of Global Markets
• Ensures that the control environment is adequately supported through the adequate training and appropriate resourcing of the Global Markets Finance department
• To promote knowledge sharing within the Global Markets Finance team

Operational Effectiveness & Control

• To ensure that the activities of Global Markets are performed in line with group internal control measures as defined in FIM
• To ensure that regulatory requirements in relation to the Global Markets activities are complied
• Safeguard the bank from potential loss by minimizing operational risk
• Drive operational effectiveness through the optimal use of resources within Global Markets Product Control
• To act as Local Compliance Representative (LCR) for Global Markets Product Control

Requirements and Qualifications

• Understanding of Global Markets products & the valuations of plain-vanilla products to structured products is a must
• Strong Market Risk knowledge (FX & Interest Rate Risk, VaR, PVBP, Stress Testing, etc)
• Good understanding of Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS), especially in relation with Global Markets Products
• Understanding of Risk Management
• Possess good interpersonal, negotiation skills & influencing skills to work with GM dealers and across Customer Groups in general
• Having good analytical reasoning skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiar with Regulatory requirements (Central Banks)

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.
