Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This role involves managing daily accounting operations, assisting with audits, and supporting management in financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and other financial records.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of journal entries.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of financial records and documents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA license (preferred but not always required).
  • At least 2–3 solid years of accounting experience, preferably in general accounting or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
