Job Description:

A Service Engineer installs, maintains, and repairs medical devices, performing both reactive and preventive maintenance. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, providing customer support and training, conducting equipment demonstrations, and documenting all service activities. This role often requires strong technical skills in electronics or biomedical engineering, customer service abilities, and a willingness to travel.

  • Installation and setup: Install, check, test, and commission medical equipment at client sites like hospitals and laboratories.
  • Maintenance: Perform both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency reactive maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Repair: Diagnose and repair complex hardware and software issues with medical devices.
  • Customer support and training: Provide technical support to clients, which can include on-site assistance, phone support, and training staff on proper equipment usage.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all service calls, including actions taken, parts used, and equipment performance.
  • Inventory management: Assess and manage the parts needed for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Feedback and reporting: Collect feedback from users to report on equipment performance, reliability, and quality to the appropriate departments and manufacturers.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or any related field.
  • With good communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients and provide them with support.
  • At least 1-2 years relevant working experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
