The Web Scraping Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure web scraping solutions to support data acquisition needs. This role involves creating automation scripts, managing advanced bot detection systems, and working with cloud technologies to ensure efficient and high-quality data delivery.

Tasks and Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and optimize robust web scraping scripts using Python. Handle websites protected with advanced bot detection mechanisms and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Utilize Playwright (or similar tools like Selenium) for headless browser automation.

Design and deploy serverless scraping workflows using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, CloudWatch). Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for scraper uptime and data quality. Collaborate with data and engineering teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data.

Maintain compliance with website terms of service and applicable legal standards. Manage proxy solutions and rotating IP infrastructure when needed. Required Qualifications:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in web scraping or automation engineering.

Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with popular scraping and automation libraries such as Requests, BeautifulSoup, Playwright, or Selenium. Hands-on experience managing multi-factor authentication (MFA) workflows and session/token management. Experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch.

Familiarity with browser automation and working with headless browsers. Understanding of security and privacy concerns related to web scraping, ensuring that all scraping activities are carried out responsibly and ethically. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems, such as Git.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and find solutions. Desired (Not Required) Qualifications:Experience with asynchronous Python (e.g., asyncio, aiohttp). Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).

Prior experience scraping data from highly dynamic or protected sites. Knowledge of legal frameworks related to data collection and compliance. Work Setup: Onsite in any of the following locations:Angeles City, PampangaDavao City (Bajada)Ortigas Center, Pasig City (Metro Manila)Work Schedule: Night shift Manila Time
