SUMMARY

We're seeking an experienced systems engineer to join our team, focusing on the core data center and cloud platforms that support clients in the fast-paced financial services industry. This role is hands-on and engineering-focused not a simple administration position. You will take on complex challenges across virtualization, storage, and infrastructure performance, helping ensure our platforms remain resilient, scalable, and high performing. As a senior member of the team, you'll strengthen our technical foundation and directly support the stability and reliability of critical systems that power our clients' operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and Support Virtualization Platforms: Oversee and optimize enterprise virtualization environments, including VMware, Proxmox, and RedHat OpenShift, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
  • Administer and Enhance Storage Systems: Manage enterprise storage solutions such as Pure Storage and HPE, including capacity planning, performance tuning, replication, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Maintain Core Infrastructure: Ensure the reliability and efficiency of multi-tenant environments and associate cloud workloads in Microsoft Azure.
  • Monitor and Optimize: Proactively monitor system performance using CheckMK (or similar tools), implement improvements, and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems, performing in-depth root cause analysis and driving long-term remediation.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with fellow engineers to share expertise, refine processes, and evaluate emerging technologies that enhance virtualization, storage, and infrastructure performance.
  • Provide Critical Support: Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours coverage for essential systems and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Virtualization Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter, Proxmox VE, and RedHat OpenShift.
  • Storage Systems: Deep knowledge of enterprise storage platforms such as Pure Storage and HPE, including performance tuning, replication, and data protection.
  • Cloud Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS) environments.
  • Application & Desktop Delivery: Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Citrix NetScaler (ADC).
  • Operating Systems: Proficient in both Windows Server and Linux administration
  • Monitoring: Experience with CheckMK or comparable enterprise monitoring platforms.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a systems engineering role, ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment or Enterprise environment
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Ownership: Self-motivated and capable of managing priorities independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Resilience: Thrives under pressure and can maintain focus when addressing urgent or complex technical issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
  • Should be amenable to a permanent mid-shift schedule.
