EHS Officer

About the role

Acbel PolyTech (Phils.), Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Officer to join our team in Calamba City, Laguna. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, as well as developing and implementing programs to promote a safe and sustainable workplace.

What you'll be doing

• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe and sustainable workplace.
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead incident/accident investigations and prepare reports with preventive measures.
• Provide EHS orientation, training, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Monitor waste management, pollution control, and occupational health initiatives.
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans, and facilitate safety drills.
• Ensure proper use of PPE, ergonomics, and occupational health and safety standards are observed at all times.
• Prepare and submit required EHS reports to management and regulatory agencies (DENR, DOLE, PEZA, BFP, LGU, etc.).
• Act as a liaison with government agencies during audits, inspections, and compliance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and certification programs (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ).
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure safe execution of construction, maintenance, and shutdown activities
• Promote a strong safety culture through campaigns, bulletin boards, and internal communications

What we're looking for

• Must be a college graduate (preferably in Engineering, Health Sciences, or other related technical fields).
• Completion of 40-hour DOLE-accredited OSH training in Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Loss Control Management Training
• Preferably a Safety Practitioner with valid DOLE certification (BOSH/COSH or equivalent).
• Completion of 40hr Basic Training Course for Pollution Control Officer is an advantage
• Completion of EHS-related courses (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Fire Safety, Environmental Management, Internal Auditor) are an advantage
• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements from DOLE, DENR, PEZA, and other government agencies.
• Hands-on experience in implementing safety programs, emergency response, and waste management systems.
• Exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance or certification processes is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and compliance requirements (DOLE, DENR, PEZA, LGU).
• Proficient in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
• Familiarity with waste management, pollution control, and occupational health programs.
• Knowledge in ISO Environmental Management System) and ISO Occupational Health & Safety Management System) standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and coordination across all levels.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and report preparation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
