Engineering Head

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effective performance across our plant. You'll lead a team of engineers and maintenance professionals, driving both day-to-day excellence and long-term improvement projects.

This is a leadership role where your expertise in utilities, maintenance, and engineering operations will directly contribute to the company's growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in engineering operations, plant maintenance, or utilities management.
• Completed BOSH Training (Basic Occupational Safety and Health).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams, set performance targets, and implement process improvements.

MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE AREAS

Planning

• Participates in the planning, budgeting and decision-making process of the department & the business.
• Consults with subordinates to identify the operational needs of his unit.
• Reviews & develops Engineering services operational procedures and communicates these to ensure strict implementation
• Establishes / sets departmental operational targets.
• Studies the capabilities of subordinate staff and sits down with them to assist them in making and achieving their action plans / schedules.
• Participates in operations planning meetings.
• Helps in the preparation of Activity Based Costing (ABC) & in planning & allocating of resources & plant capacity.
• Determines desired objectives and results.
• Anticipates possible problems in operations and seeks necessary solutions to prevent delays.
• Writes the business case or justification for expenses or investment.

Organizing

• Organizes Operations Teams within the Unit.
• Explains the workflow and gives / clarifies individual job responsibilities.
• Creates individual accountability.
• Delegates adequate authority to ensure prompt actions and needed decisions.
• Develops cooperative spirit in the unit.

Directing

• Conducts planning and evaluation meeting within the group.
• Explains / interprets policies and procedures.
• Convenes the Operations Teams to conduct dry runs.
• Gives assistance to subordinates who have difficult technical and administrative problems.
• Conducts selection interview with qualified candidates to assess who will be the most qualified for the position.
• Monitors the strict implementation of agreed plans, policies and procedures.
• Initiates / implements actions & programs for continuous people development.
• Prepares required reports and updates superiors on the operation trends of his unit.
• Communicates at once all memos and directives of management.
• Closely coordinates the operational needs of the unit with Production, Finished
• Goods, Warehouse, QA, HR, Sales and Commercial Mondenissin partners (MNC) sharing the facilities.

Monitoring / Controlling

• Reviews with the group the required needed parameter standard.
• Mutually agrees on the acceptable performance standards to be required in the appraisal of his performance.
• Conducts performance appraisal. Gives feedback and performance counselling if needed.
• Evaluates the recommendations of subordinate staff.
• Reviews / analyses variances between projected results versus actual results.
• Improves and corrects poor or wrong performances of subordinates.
• Keeps government required tests and certifications relevant to facilities and equipment current.

TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS

Safety and Plant Sanitation

• Supports the EHS Officer and the Operations Lead in the development and strict implementation of safety programs of the plant to eliminate accidents
• Supports QA and Production Operations in the continuous improvement of plant sanitation.
• Maintains the factory grounds to ensure personnel safety and sustainable equipment operations.

Process and Operational policies

• Simplification of Engineering operational processes.
• Strict implementation of policies and procedures.

Project Management

• Assists the various operating unit in the conceptualization and implementation of identified projects for operations improvement or expansion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php30, Php45,000.00 per month
