The General Ledger Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records through the preparation and reconciliation of journal entries, financial statements, and accounts. The role ensures compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) while supporting the integrity of the company's financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare and record journal entries including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental transactions in the company's accounting ledger.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile financial statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary for designated bank accounts.
  • Subsidiary Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare monthly reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers, including Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Maintain and update the fixed assets register or lapsing schedule, ensuring accurate historical cost records, location verification, and completeness.
  • Chart of Accounts Maintenance: Establish and update the chart of accounts to meet disclosure requirements and monitor account balances effectively.
  • Inventory Verification: Assist in quarterly, interim, and year-end physical inventory counts of finished goods, materials, and supplies; reconcile results with accounting records.
  • Confidentiality: Handle all sensitive and confidential company and management information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all financial records and reports comply with GAAP, PFRS, and internal company policies, maintaining proper documentation and retention.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by management or the department head, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to organizational changes.
