We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer II with extensive experience in asphalt materials, pavement design, and road construction projects. The role involves ensuring that all materials used in roadworks meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all materials-related activities for asphalt and roadworks projects, including selection, testing, and quality control.
  • Conduct site inspections, field sampling, and laboratory testing of asphalt, aggregates, soil, and other construction materials.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH specifications) and project quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to resolve materials-related issues.
  • Analyze test data and prepare comprehensive reports on materials performance, pavement conditions, and mix designs.
  • Recommend appropriate material specifications and adjustments for asphalt mixtures, subgrade stabilization, and other pavement components.
  • Monitor the performance of asphalt paving operations to ensure consistency, quality, and durability.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing procedures, results, and certifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and laboratory technicians.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Licensed Civil Engineer preferred).
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in materials engineering with a strong focus on asphalt mix designs, quality control, and roadworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials standards and testing procedures for asphalt, aggregates, and pavement layers.
  • Hands-on experience with materials testing equipment, laboratory processes, and site quality control.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical reports and interpreting test results.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in both field and laboratory settings.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certification in asphalt mix design or pavement technology (e.g., DPWH, ACI, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with advanced pavement analysis software and modern construction technologies.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, expressways, airport runways).
