JOB SUMMARY

The Tax Manager is responsible for leading the tax function, ensuring compliance with BIR, PEZA, PAGCOR, and other local tax regulations, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax laws, managing tax audits, optimizing tax efficiency, and mitigating tax risks. This role also oversees and provides guidance to Assistant Managers and their team members, ensuring effective execution of deliverables and adherence to regulatory requirements and internal processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of tax returns, including VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other national and local taxes.
  • Monitor tax deadlines and ensure full compliance with BIR regulations.
  • Review tax computations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and approve monthly income tax provisions and lead the deferred tax computations for financial reporting.
  • Manage BIR, PAGCOR, and other government tax audits, ensuring proper documentation and timely responses.
  • Review internal assessment computation of tax risks and exposures for multiple entities.
  • Ensure preparedness of the company for regulatory changes and audits by maintaining proper documentation and compliance practices.
  • Monitor changes in the Philippine tax laws, gaming tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.
  • Provide tax advisory support to business units and partner hotels on the tax implications of business transactions contracts, and new regulations.
  • Keep management updated on tax law changes and recommend necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Identify tax risks and develop action plans to mitigate potential exposures.
  • Streamline tax processes and implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure proper tax treatments of transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner hotels to address tax concerns and improve tax-related processes.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Performance Management: Come up with strategies that will help direct reports achieve their performance goals, and drive high performance. This also includes conducting performance planning, goal setting, and evaluations.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provides guidance to direct reports in performing their areas of responsibility, and supports their growth and development.
  • Employee Engagement: Implement initiatives and provide a work environment that will promote employee engagement and high commitment to the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields.
  • At least 8 years of experience in taxation, with at least 3 years in managerial roles.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License is required.
  • Execute strategies that help achieve the organization's vision, mission and values into terms that are relevant to the work being performed.
  • Provides leadership and motivates others to understand and advocate the organization's strategy and mandate.
  • Develops strategies to surpass goals and plans contingencies to deal with unexpected events or setbacks
  • Introduces strategies to improve customer engagement and retention
  • Creates new insights, products, services from a wide range of information, tools and techniques
  • Ensures learning strategies are in place so team members can fulfill current or future job/role responsibilities more effectively
