Due to business expansion, our client is actively seeking an Investment Manager to join their team in Manila. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development (Philippines), this individual will play a critical role in supporting financing, investment, and portfolio management initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to:

  • Secure project finance for greenfield and M&A opportunities.
  • Originate, evaluate, and close development partnerships and acquisition opportunities.
  • Contribute to portfolio management through performance tracking and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Project Finance

  • Support the Group CIO and Head of Business Development throughout the financing cycle, including due diligence, documentation, and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, due diligence advisors, and law firms.
  • Develop and review financial models, information memoranda, and investor presentations.

Investment Analysis

  • Support the evaluation of development partnership opportunities from origination through transaction closing.
  • Lead the preparation of key documents such as board presentations, valuation notes, and transaction memos.
  • Proactively source deals, develop a network of contacts, and apply a systematic approach to deal screening.

Portfolio Management

  • Provide regular updates on portfolio performance, including operating metrics and compliance with financial covenants.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Networking ability: Proven capability in building and maintaining relationships with banks, financing institutions, law firms, and advisors.
  • Industry expertise: Prior experience raising or arranging debt financing for wind and/or solar generation projects in the Philippines is highly preferred.
  • Technical skills: Strong grounding in project finance, financial modeling, and valuation techniques (DCF, Comps, Precedent Transactions).
  • Deal-making ability: Skilled in negotiation, structuring, and execution of investment transactions, including managing due diligence processes.
  • Professional traits: Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, with exceptional attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline from a recognized institution (Master's degree or CFA preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project finance, investment management, or a related field, with a successful track record in leading and closing project finance/M&A deals.
  • Prior experience in the wind and solar energy sector in the Philippines is required.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
