Government/Union Relation Officer

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Government & Union Relations Officer to serve as a strategic liaison between our company and key Philippine government agencies, while leading Industrial Relations efforts across our operations and subsidiaries. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, advocate for our logistics objectives, and foster a stable and productive labor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Relations and Regulatory Compliance

  • Act as primary point of contact with government agencies, including BOC, CAB, DTI, DICT, and/or LGUs (DENR is a plus)
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting logistics and supply chain operations
  • Ensure compliance with permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and present position papers, policy briefs, and reports (especially when there are public consultations) to government stakeholders
  • Keep abreast with new applicable laws and regulations, and ensure company compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies to promote company's interests

Industrial and Union Relations

  • Participate in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions
  • Manage grievance and dispute resolution processes
  • Ensure labor compliance with Philippine Labor Code and related laws
  • Develop and maintain relationships with union officers and employee representatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Business Management)
  • 5+ years of experience in government relations, labor relations, within logistics, transportation or other regulated industries
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine legislative and regulatory processes, Labor Code, and government agencies
