Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Privacy Protection Officer to ensure our organization's compliance with data protection laws and uphold the highest standards of privacy and information security. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting personal data, managing compliance programs, and fostering a culture of privacy awareness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure organizational adherence to relevant data protection and privacy regulations, particularly the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, and other applicable local and international standards.
  • Data Protection Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies, guidelines, and best practices to safeguard personal and organizational data.
  • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA): Conduct and oversee PIAs to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks associated with business processes and projects.
  • Data Subject Rights Management: Oversee processes for responding to data subject requests (access, correction, deletion, etc.) in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Security and Incident Management: Collaborate with IT and Security teams to manage data breaches and incidents, including investigation, containment, and reporting.
  • Training and Awareness: Lead privacy training programs and awareness campaigns to ensure employees understand their data protection responsibilities.
  • Audits and Monitoring: Perform regular privacy compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of processing activities, compliance documentation, and incident reports as required by law.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in data protection, privacy compliance, information security, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, particularly the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or similar) are an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
