We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Privacy Protection Officer (DPO) to lead our organization's data privacy compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data protection laws, particularly the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, and proven experience in implementing privacy programs and safeguarding sensitive information.


Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

  • Ensure the company's full compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and other regulatory authorities.

2. Data Protection Policies and Procedures

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data protection policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Review and update policies in response to new regulations or organizational changes.

3. Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA)

  • Conduct and document PIAs for new projects, technologies, and data processing activities.
  • Recommend measures to mitigate identified risks.

4. Data Subject Rights Management

  • Manage and respond to requests from data subjects regarding access, correction, or deletion of their personal data.

5. Data Security and Incident Management

  • Oversee and coordinate data breach investigations and notifications.
  • Collaborate with IT and Security teams to strengthen data security measures.

6. Training and Awareness

  • Conduct regular training sessions and awareness programs for employees on data privacy and protection best practices.

7. Audits and Monitoring

  • Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to data protection policies and standards.
  • Monitor compliance and report findings with recommended corrective actions.

8. Documentation and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain comprehensive records of data processing activities, PIAs, and compliance reports.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Protection, Privacy Compliance, Information Security/Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, especially the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CDPO, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in compliance documentation and reporting.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
