Position Title: General Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Location: Libis, QC


1. Position Overview

The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial recording, reporting, and compliance for Filoil Philippines Corporation. The role manages day-to-day accounting activities, supports month-end closing, maintains account reconciliations, and ensures adherence to company policies and accounting standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and solid technical accounting skills.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required with experience in food industry is preferred.


2. Key Responsibilities

A. General Accounting

  • Prepare and record journal entries for monthly and year-end closing.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Monitor accruals, prepayments, and amortizations.
  • Validate completeness and accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports.

B. Accounts Management

  • Review and process invoices, payments, and related documentation.
  • Validate entries for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Monitor aging schedules and coordinate with internal teams for collections or payables clearance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.

C. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial schedules, variance analyses, and supporting reports.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Provide relevant financial data to support decision-making.

D. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with PFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal/external audit processes.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure completeness of audit trails.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory requirements (BIR, LGU, etc.), as assigned.

E. Support to Finance Operations

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for documentation and financial requirements.
  • Provide support in improving accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Assist in ERP/accounting system updates and data validation.

3. Technical Requirements & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of General Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
  • Understanding of PFRS, taxes, and regulatory compliance

4. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 2–4 years relevant General Accounting experience
  • Experience in the food industry or related fields is preferred.
