Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and hotel policies, and supporting the overall financial management of Vermilion Hotel. This role involves handling general accounting functions, payroll processing, government compliance, and preparation of financial reports to support management decisions.

Candidates must have experience with Philippines payroll and tax compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the hotel's accounting system.
  • Record daily transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cash advances, and credit card transactions.
  • Monitor and update subsidiary ledgers for accounts payable and receivable.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Support management with cost control and profitability analysis.

3. Payroll and Employee Benefits

  • Process bi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
  • Maintain payroll records and generate reports as needed.

4. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts.
  • Monitor guest ledger, city ledger, and ensure prompt collection of receivables.

5. Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with BIR requirements (e.g., VAT, EWT, income tax returns).
  • Prepare and file statutory reports to government agencies.
  • Assist in internal and external audit requirements.

6. Asset and Inventory Management

  • Maintain fixed asset records and handle monthly depreciation schedules.
  • Coordinate with other departments for inventory counts and reconciliations.

7. Other Tasks

  • Support management with financial analysis and special projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information.
  • Perform other accounting or administrative duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or Finance.
  • Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or with relevant accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Knowledgeable in hotel accounting systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Philippine taxation and government compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other office applications.
  • Can work with minimal supervision, trustworthy, and organized.
