I. PURPOSE

Software quality assurance (QA) engineer monitors every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company standards. Software delays are costly for a company, so it's vital for releases to meet target dates. A software quality assurance engineer helps meet deadlines by breaking up the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any issues back to the development and product teams or leaders.

Customer Support responsibilities include resolving customer queries, recommending solutions and guiding product users through features and functionalities.  and should also be familiar with service desk software.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Participate during sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings and sprint review.
  • Ensure products meet customer expectations and demand
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Create reports documenting testing phases errors and issues/defects for fixing
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Maintain standards for reliability and performance of production
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Create quality measurements to track improvement in products
  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating quality testing activities
  • Performs other related duties and work beyond business hours as required.
  • Adheres to all company policies, processes, and business ethic codes.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the Lead, Manager or Head
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; or SLA follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Minimum Education

  • A graduate of any 4-year IT related courses:

  • BS in Electronics Engineering

  • BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering
  • BS in Information Technology
  • BS in Computer Engineering
  • BS in Computer Science
  • BS in Information System

B. Minimum Experience/Training

  • Knowledgeable in API testing is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Load testing/Stress testing and compatibility testing is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools is a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is a plus
  • Knowledgeable with Agile Methodology is a plus
  • Experienced with administering and/or managing Windows Servers and/or RHEL is a plus
  • Completed and passed the Cadetship Training Program
