About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Credit Journey Head to lead and optimize the credit application and underwriting journey in the Philippines. This role focuses on building seamless, efficient, and customer-centric processes that balance growth with strong risk controls.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of credit operations, digital lending, and regulatory compliance in the Philippine market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Define and execute the credit operations roadmap for lending application and decisioning.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow teams responsible for loan application processing, underwriting, and customer onboarding.
  • Drive digitization and automation to reduce turnaround times and improve approval accuracy.

Credit Underwriting & Risk Control

  • Oversee credit decisioning frameworks to ensure high-quality, data-driven approvals.
  • Collaborate with risk, product, and data science teams to refine credit scorecards and decision models.
  • Monitor application performance and implement improvements to reduce fraud, rejection rates, and drop-offs.

Customer Experience & Journey Optimization

  • Design a frictionless loan application journey, minimizing manual interventions while ensuring compliance.
  • Partner with Product and Tech teams to streamline KYC, onboarding, and verification processes.
  • Balance speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction across credit workflows.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with BSP guidelines, data privacy, and AML/KYC requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Product, Technology, and Customer Experience teams to enhance the lending journey.
  • Partner with Finance and Risk teams on portfolio reporting, provisioning, and credit quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in credit operations, lending, or financial services, with at least 3 years in leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer and SME lending application processes and underwriting in the Philippines.
  • Proven success in streamlining loan application and approval journeys in fintech, banks, or non-bank lenders.
  • Familiarity with credit scoring models, digital lending platforms, and workflow automation.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Filipino preferred.
