We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor specializing in Electrical Design and Commercial Fit-Out projects. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of proven expertise in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, budgeting, and contract administration related to electrical systems for commercial interior projects. This role also involves site supervision and providing professional recommendations on electrical works to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and budgets for electrical works in commercial fit-out projects.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Evaluate and review tender documents, technical submissions, and contractor quotations.
  • Monitor and control project costs through budget tracking, cost reports, and variation analysis.
  • Collaborate with the design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in tender negotiations, contract reviews, and supplier/contractor evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and project specifications related to electrical systems.
  • Provide value engineering solutions and recommendations for cost savings.
  • Manage progress payments, claims, and final account settlements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to supervise electrical works, verify progress, and ensure compliance with design and cost requirements.
  • Provide professional recommendations and technical advice on electrical issues observed at the project site.
  • Support project planning by advising on cost and design implications of site conditions and changes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Registered Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying with a focus on electrical works for commercial fit-out projects.
  • Knowledgeable of MEP systems, electrical design, and installation standards.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, MS Excel, and QS-related software (e.g., CostX, Planswift, or equivalent).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and FIDIC (or equivalent) principles is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in interior fit-out, retail, corporate offices, or hospitality projects.
  • Exposure to design & build contract environments.
  • Site supervision experience with strong problem-solving and technical advisory skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player with leadership potential.

Job Type: Full-time
