Electrical Engineer – Duties and Responsibilities

Design and Planning

  • Develop, review, and interpret electrical plans, diagrams, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, cost estimates, and material take-offs.
  • Assist in preparing technical proposals, project documentation, and design reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.

Project Execution and Coordination

  • Supervise and monitor electrical works at the project site to ensure proper implementation of plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare work schedules, material lists, and manpower requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues, verify progress, and ensure workmanship quality.

Site / Field Work Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems on-site and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all electrical works follow safety standards and company protocols.
  • Verify delivered materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
  • Prepare and submit site reports, inspection forms, and documentation required for project monitoring.

Technical Support and Compliance

  • Review and recommend improvements on electrical systems for efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues raised during construction or installation.
  • Ensure that electrical work activities comply with project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety evaluations related to electrical operations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend coordination meetings, technical discussions, and site briefings as required.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities for inspections, approvals, and project updates.
  • Perform other engineering tasks that may be assigned from time to time, including temporary assignment to various project sites or field locations as needed.
