Company Overview:

We are a dynamic company looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Collection Specialist to support our client's finance team during a critical system integration project. This role will initially focus on reconciling customer accounts between two systems (Business Central and CRM) to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

After the initial reconciliation phase, the focus will shift toward managing collections, maintaining customer accounts, and supporting the accounts receivable function.

This is a fully remote role, and the successful candidate must be able to work according to Canadian Eastern Time (EST).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Phase 1: System Integration & Reconciliation
  • Reconcile customer account information between Business Central and CRM systems.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in balances, transactions, and account data.

  • Support data validation and cleanup as part of the system integration process.

  • Phase 2: Collections & Accounts Receivable Operations

  • Manage and follow up on overdue customer accounts to ensure timely collection.
  • Set up new customer accounts in the ERP system.
  • Process credit card payments and apply early payment discounts accurately.
  • Manage customer payment portals and monitor payment activities.
  • Review and update customer credit ratings as needed.
  • Reconcile customer accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage and track allowance for bad debts.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
  • Prepare collection and aging reports using Excel and ERP data.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or related finance roles.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, reconciliation).
  • Experience working with ERP systems—preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central—and CRM tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Self-motivated and a fast learner, especially with new systems and processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.

Work Schedule & Availability

  • Must be able to work during night shift hours, following Canada local working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST (Toronto Time).
  • Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Should be flexible to extend working hours when required to meet business needs(paid hours).

Additional Information:

  • The company will provide fully paid training to ensure you're set up for success in your role.
  • This is a 1.5-year contract with potential for extension or permanent placement with a competitive hourly rate.
  • Remote work from the comfort of your own home.
  • Immediate start required.
  • Pay Range: Canadian Dollar $3-$4/hour
